We have a great career opportunity for a motivated Respiratory Therapist who is looking for a clinical role across all of our patient groups. This Respiratory Therapist will initiate oxygen therapy, CPAP therapy, and other respiratory services as prescribed, by providing instruction, delivering equipment, and ensuring patient safety. Our clinicians work directly with home care clients, referral sources and funding agencies to deliver the highest level of patient care possible.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Initiate oxygen therapy, CPAP therapy and assess respiratory health on an on-going basis.
- Educating clients on their condition and their prescribed therapy. Follow-up assessments to be completed on a regular basis.
- Obtain informed consent in order to initiate therapy.
- Protect clients and employees by adhering to safety and infection control policies and protocols.
- Contribute to the growth of Northern Respiratory by liaising with medical professionals, providing demonstrations / education of products and services to prospective clients and referral sources.
- Attend workshop/education sessions to ensure product knowledge is current.
- Prepare reports on calls and activities.
- Provide on-call services for our oxygen clients in rotation with our other staff members
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
- A Registered Respiratory Therapist with current registration in good standing with their college is required.
- Proof of License to practice with the provincial governing body (CRTO, CNO).
- Proof of a valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to provide a clean drivers abstract is required.
- Previous Customer Service experience is an asset with a minimum of 1+ years related healthcare experience.
- Fluency in English required (reading, writing and oral), bilingualism is considered an asset.
- Professional and friendly interpersonal skills with strong customer service values.
- Excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, assess situations, prioritize tasks, and set deadlines.
- A professional and mature demeanor, with strong communication skills.
- Good time management skills, ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
- Must be committed to both personal and patient/client safety.
- Current Basic rescuer CPR and First Aid Training is considered an asset.
- Strong cardio-respiratory assessment skills.
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), QuickBooks, or similar accounting software & experience with CRM/EMR system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
